The RKtects Studio Inc. was formed in 1994 with a simple premise: the needs of our clients come first. Eleanor F. Krause, AIA and Gabriel Romero, AIA, the principals of The RKtects Studio Inc., are both recognized for exceptional sensitivity to the needs of their clients, as well as for technical competence and design ability. This commitment to service takes many forms throughout the course of the planning, design, documentation and construction process, and is demonstrated by a dedication to meeting the goals of the client for each phase of the project.
Ms. Krause brings to the practice over twenty years experience in renovation, addition and historic preservation projects, working on a variety of project types including custom homes, theaters, museums, churches, academic buildings and government facilities. After twenty years of practice in Washington, D.C., Mr. Romero is recognized as an exceptional design architect, with an emphasis in the technical and structural aspects of projects. His previous work also includes a variety of project types and scales, including multi-family residential, custom homes, recreation facilities, academic buildings, commercial, industrial, civic, retail and theater projects.
The RKtects Studio, Inc. is a small, minority-owned (8(a) certified) business, with a staff of five in addition to the two principals. The firm is located in Bethesda, MD, and it's principals are currently licensed in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.
